A Day at the Marketplace

Belle stared down at Jenna her familiar who to mortal eyes would appear to be a normal collie, she sat down on a fountain and smiled as Jenna came up to her. "Hey girl." She said and gently petted her even as Jenna spoke into her mind, The townspeople are much more wary today Belle frowned and looked around. She trusted Jenna's instincts over her own and nodded slowly, "You're right." She muttered, she knew most of the witches at Avalon were here today and she secretly hoped they would all be on their best behavior.

Jasmine was wondering through the town. She needed some supplies for some of the potions she wanted to try. Most she had to grow or cultivate herself but some were good to find in a market. She found a number of spices and plants she placed in her bag. She was walking along without a care with her faithful Rajah next to her.


These people don't want us here. Her familiar whispered in her mind. "I know I'm almost done though then we can head home and I can try that new potion I've been looking at.

Jasmine then spotted Bell another woman that lived on Avalon. She even lived in the room right next door.


"Hello Bell." she said politely.

Belle smiled when she looked up and saw Jasmine with her familiar Rajah, "Hey Jasmine, how have you been?" She asked politely as Jenna perked up and gave a doggy smile to Rajah.

"I've been good." She smiled sweetly. "I'm just in town getting some supplies for my potions. Rajah here," She patted the tigers head. "Wants to go home as soon as possible. You know how protective he can be." She stroked the large cats head and smiled. "What are you doing today?" She asked curiously.

Belle smiled, "Well I came here to get some books to pass the time but the owner is out for an hour, so I'm just waiting until he comes back." She said with a small smile. She loved books much to Jenna's frank curiousity.

"Any books your particularly interested in getting?" Jasmine asked curiously. Her hand scratching behind one of Rajah's ears.

Belle shook her head, "I hadn't really thought about it, I was just going to see if they had any fantasy books or something." She said wistfully. Jenna barked and sat next to her with her tail wagging, I love it when you read books to me she sent to Belle.

Jasmine chuckled sweetly. "You don't get enough fantasy on Avalon?" She asked jokingly.

Belle laughed, "Oh I do....its just that there's always more to see and learn, you know?" She asked with a small smile

Jasmine nodded. "I know I just love reading my mother's old books they are so interesting." Jasmine said excitedly.

Belle nodded in agreement and then looked down as Jenna started barking again, some of the Exterminators are nearby she sent to Belle urgently. Belle winced and looked over at Jasmine, "I think we should split up at least until the Exterminators have left the Plaza." She said quietly as she looked around herself.

Jasmine turned to Rajah who nodded. "Ok see you latter Belle." Jasmine turned and disappeared into the crowed with her familiar.

Belle watched her leave and then turned to look down at Jenna, "Ok just do what we normally do Jenna." She muttered as she started walking along pulling a book out of her basket and pretending to give it her full attention as she walked.
